Chicken That's Alive With Difference
Pastured poultry raised on open land, priced for real life.
Madagascar deserves better chicken at a fair price.
Something Doesn't Add Up
Walk into any market in Madagascar and you'll find chicken priced like London or Paris. But we're not earning London wages.
The average Malagasy family spends more of their income on chicken than families in Europe spend on theirs. That's not a supply problem—it's a system problem.
We started Velona Farms to fix it.
A Different Way to Raise Chicken
Raised on Pasture
Our chickens live on open grassland, moved to fresh ground daily. They eat grass, bugs, and sunshine alongside their feed. This isn't factory farming—it's farming the way it used to be.
Priced for Here
By building local systems—local feed, local processing, local ownership—we're cutting out the costs that make chicken expensive. Our goal: quality chicken at half the current price.
Owned Locally
Velona Farms isn't here to extract. We're building a network of Malagasy-owned farms, sharing knowledge and systems so the benefits stay in the community.
Where We Are Today

Where We Are Today *
We're not pretending to have all the answers yet. Right now, we're running a one-hectare test farm near Tamatave, raising around 4,000 chickens per year while we perfect our systems.
We're testing everything: feed formulations using local ingredients, pasture rotation methods, processing efficiency, and even experimental approaches like hydroponic greens and improved barn systems.
When we get it right, we'll scale. When we get it wrong, we'll learn and try again.
